Welcome to Laurene Edmondson Elementary School

Our mission is simple. We strive to maximize all student outcomes.  To do this we are a responsive community that engages learners through critical thinking, collaboration, inquiry and problem solving to empower students to be innovative world citizens.

History:  Laurene Edmondson Elementary opened its doors to students in 1979. The building was named for Ms. Laurene Edmondson who was a beloved music teacher in the Loveland schools from 1940-1975.

Currently, L. Edmondson has a student population of approximately 210 students in grades K-5.  There is also an Early Childhood Center on our 10 acre campus. For specific information and a map of attendance boundaries, consult the Thompson School District website at www.thompsonschools.org .

Laurene Edmondson is staffed with 25 certified members of the teaching staff and 14 classified/support staff and two Reading Corps Tutors.   In addition to core academic subjects, students have the benefit of weekly art, music, physical education, library and computer/technology classes. Special services available to students include:  special education, literacy support, speech language therapy, gifted and talented classes, occupational therapy, and counseling.

School hours are 8:38 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.  on Monday through Friday.  We currently offer fully funded tuition free kindergarten classes funded by a grant from the Colorado Department of Education.
