    of Van Buren Elementary School

Thompson School District announced today that Nichole Randazzo has been named interim principal at Van Buren Elementary School.  She will fill the position that is being vacated by Rebecca Marsh, who is departing the district to work at the collegiate level.

Mrs. Randazzo is currently serving as the assistant principal at Ferguson High School in Loveland.  Her varied career in education also includes work as an assistant principal at Monfort Elementary School in Weld County School District 6, along with teaching positions at Cache La Poudre Elementary School and PEAK Alternative Secondary School in Poudre School District and previous experience in TSD as an Academic Intervention Specialist and Family Engagement Coordinator.

“I feel very fortunate that I will be working with such an amazing and welcoming community at Van Buren,” Mrs. Randazzo said.  “They create an environment that feels so much like home to me and I’m looking forward to moving ahead with this great team.  I have truly loved my time working with the Ferguson High School community and I look forward to continuing to support opportunities for all students to be engaged in their education.”

Mrs. Randazzo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary and Special Education from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University.  Over the next few months, she will be working closely with school and district leadership to ensure a smooth transition into her new position at Van Buren Elementary School.
